Driving with Snow on your Car Windows is Illegal and Dangerous

Chicago always gets a fair amount of snowfall every year. While it can be pretty, snow also means adding a few minutes to your morning routine to brush the snow off your car before you drive. In fact, Illinois has a statute which makes it illegal to drive a vehicle that has snow or ice on any of the windows or mirrors that obstructs the driver’s view. If you are pulled over with snow blocking part of your car’s window, you can be issued a ticket that results in a fine under this law. In an effort to keep you and others safe, be sure to have a snow brush for your car ready and make sure the snow and ice is cleaned off before you start driving.
